Eldonian Community Trust Meets The Princess Royal
The Eldonian Community Trust was represented at the Charity Commission for England and Wales’ Annual Public Meeting (APM), held at the historic Inner Temple in London.
Our Chair, Maureen Price, and Secretary to the Board of Trustees, Rhys Jones, attended following invitations extended at the special request of the Commission’s Chair, Dame Julia Unwin, and Chief Executive, David Holdsworth.
A particular highlight of the occasion was the opportunity for our Chair and Secretary to meet HRH The Princess Royal, making it a memorable occasion for the Trust.

Another significant moment came when the Charity Commission’s Chief Executive acknowledged those who had stepped forward to take on the challenges facing the charity, describing them as “a brave group who stepped forward…”.
These words carried particular significance given the challenges the Trust has faced and the commitment required of those who have accepted responsibility for its future.
Founded in 1987, the Eldonian Community Trust has a proud and important history within Liverpool’s Eldonian community. The current Board of Trustees is committed to strengthening the charity, upholding good governance and building a sustainable future for the community it exists to serve.
Attending the Annual Public Meeting provided an opportunity to engage with the wider charity sector, meet key figures and reflect on the importance of responsible trusteeship, transparency and the courage required to step forward when a charity faces significant challenges.
We are grateful to the Charity Commission for the invitations extended to our Chair and Secretary, and encouraged by the recognition given to those who have taken on the responsibility of helping to secure the Trust’s future.
Building on our history. Working for our community. Looking to the future.
