Anthony Edward McGann v Eldonian Community Trust Limited

Dear Residents,
As you will be aware the Eldonian Community Trust Limited (our Charity) has been subject for almost a year to legal “winding-up proceedings” that would close it down.
This legal action has so far prevented the new Trustees elected in March from having access to the bank account, (which was left with £42 in it). We are not allowed to function on a cash basis, so activity has been limited to activities such as working alongside the Charity Commission to ensure that proper governance arrangements are in place for the Charity, and to ensure that accounts are filed with Companies House.
We arranged for a leading Barrister, Mr Daniel Crowley, to represent us in the High Court, without cost to the Charity, for the hearing that took place in Manchester yesterday. He was well briefed by the officers of the Charity.
At the end of the day’s hearing, the Judge reserved judgement whilst he considered the arguments (as is quite normal).
We will let you know as soon as he informs us of his decision.
Kind Regards,
